  • Donald Trump had a "list of demands" for a Super Bowl commercial directed by Taika Waititi.
  • The former president insisted on a camera angle that made "him look a little thinner," said Waititi.

Former US President Donald Trump had a "list of demands" when he filmed a Super Bowl commercial, according to "Thor" filmmaker Taika Waititi, who directed it.

Waititi directed NBC's "Brotherhood of Man" promo, which aired during the 2012 Super Bowl, and features stars from NBC's biggest shows like "30 Rock," "The Office," Community," and "Saturday Night Live."

Trump, who was then the star of "The Apprentice," also briefly appears in the commercial.

On Monday's episode of the "SmartLess" podcast, Waititi said that Trump had very specific requirements when it came to shooting his part.

"I directed Trumpy. There was a piece of paper with a list of demands. The height of the camera had to be a certain height to make him look a little thinner," Waititi recalled.

"I think it had whatever the Pantone for orange was that he had to appear as on screen," the "What We Do in the Shadows" director went on to joke.

Elsewhere in the interview, Waititi recalled watching Trump interact with his makeup artist.

"He had a makeup person who was also his ego booster and she would touch him up and say, 'Oh, Mr. Trump, oh Mr. Trump,'" said the "Our Flag Means Death" star.

Since helming the NBC commercial, Waititi has directed two "Thor" movies, and won the Oscar for best adapted screenplay for "Jojo Rabbit." His latest movie, "Next Goal Wins," is in theaters now.

Waititi recently told Business Insider that he won't be involved with Marvel Studios' next "Thor" movie, however.

"I know that I won't be involved," he told BI's Jason Guerrasio. "I'm going to concentrate on these other films that I've signed on for."

"But I love Marvel, I love working with them. I love Chris," Waititi added, referring to "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth.
