Dior has introduced a luxury "scented water" for babies, which is retailing at an eye-watering $230.

The Baby Dior 'Bonne Étoile Scented Water' comes with "soft notes of pear, wild rose, and white musks," according to the fashion house.

It also comes with a price tag considerably higher than most adult fragrances, including the bestselling Dior Sauvage, which retails for about $145.

Other bestselling Dior fragrances for adults also cost less, including Miss Dior and J'adore, which both cost around $160.

The new product was co-created by Francis Kurkdijan, Dior Perfume's creative director, and Cordélia de Castellane, Baby Dior's artistic director, who designed the bottles.

The Bonne Étoile formula is a revival of a 1970 fragrance that was previously discontinued, according to Women's Wear Daily.

Kurkdijan told WWD that he wanted to revisit Baby Dior when he joined the fashion house in October 2022.

"Christian Dior evoked his childhood many times as a very happy and joyful period of his life," Kurkdijan said. "The scene and the baby care line were discontinued, and I was eager to bring it back to life as a tribute."

According to WWD, the Bonne Étoile Scented Water is classified as an "eau de senteur" — an alcohol-free scented water that is particularly suitable for babies and children.

However, Dior's website describes it as "more than a scented water."

It said it is "an object imbued with reverie that can be personalized with the colored ribbon of your choice to accompany your child like their lucky star."

The pastel-colored bottles, available in pink and blue, feature a design depicting stars, hot air balloons, and an imaginary garden in Granville — Dior's childhood home in Normandy, France.

The scented water is part of the new Baby Dior skincare collection, which also includes a $115 moisturizer for babies and a $95 cleansing foam.

LVMH, which owns Dior, did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
