David Beckham may be a world-famous soccer star known for his iconic fashion looks, but most people don't know that he's also a huge fan of Lego.

In a 2020 appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," Beckham spoke extensively about his love for the plastic brick construction toys.

"I do love Lego," Beckham told host Jimmy Fallon. "It's before I had kids. I grew up making Lego when I was eight or nine years old, and actually, I continued it."

His obsession with Lego toys runs so deep that his wife Victoria would often find him still awake in the wee hours of the night, piecing together Lego models that were made for kids.

"Victoria always laughs at me," the former soccer player said. "She'll come down at like 2 o'clock in the morning and I'll still be trying to finish a piece off."

The 48-year-old recalled how his wife even trolled him on Instagram for his hobby, even though he took it in stride.

"She posted something the other day. I think she said — because it was for 11 years and above — and she was like 'Really? You're still up at 2 o'clock in the morning, doing 11-years-and-above Lego?'" Beckham told Fallon. "It calms me when I'm making it."

This is not the first time that Beckham has made his love for Lego toys known. Back in 2007, the former Manchester United player even documented his journey building a 4,000-piece Lego replica of a Disney castle for his daughter, Harper.

As it turns out, Beckham was just as into his Lego hobby back when he was still an active soccer player.

In July, his former England teammate, Ben Foster, revealed on his podcast that Beckham would often relax in his room with a Lego set.

"He used to bring, like, Lego sets to England and stuff," Foster said. "So he would go to his room and he would just do Lego all night. It would proper chill him out. He would just sit there, do his Lego set, have a nice time."

In 2014, Beckham told The Times that building Lego was "therapeutic."

"What would I like to do if I wasn't a footballer? I love drawing cartoons and building Lego with my sons," Beckham told The Times. "I know it's not a career but I love doing it."
