Courteney Cox reflected on filming "Friends" with late actor Matthew Perry by opening up on how Monica and Chandler's love story blossomed.
In an Instagram tribute on Tuesday, Cox posted a behind-the-scenes glimpse of characters Monica and Chandler, who are caught together in bed. Cox said audiences were so excited to see the pair together that it inspired their love story to continue.
"To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one-night fling in London," Cox wrote in the Instagram caption. "But because of the audience's reaction, it became the beginning of their love story. In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind."
As they were filming the scene, Cox can be seen laughing with her costar Perry as the audience cheers the pair.
"I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day. When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share."
Perry died late last month after being found unconscious at his Pacific Palisades home, with his death certificate confirming the actor also underwent an autopsy, but the cause of death is being deferred.
His death resulted in an outpouring of support and tributes from friends, family, and fans.
"Friends" costars Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, and Lisa Kudrow previously released a joint statement following the death of their costar.
On November 3, Perry was laid to rest at a funeral attended by loved ones, including his "Friends" cast mates, multiple media outlets reported. Perry was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
On Tuesday, LeBlanc also posted a personal tribute to Perry, saying that the actor, who spent his life battling drug and alcohol addiction, that he was "finally free."
"Spread your wings and fly brother you're finally free. Much love," LeBlanc wrote.
