Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart have often tried to keep their relationship status private. Here's a timeline of their interactions.

Reinhart's book of poetry, "Swimming Lessons: Poems," is set to be released in September, and the actress spoke about how some poems are about love and shining light into her life in an interview with L'Officiel.

"It seems almost contradictory to be like, 'Yeah, I like to keep my private life private and then publish a book of poems about love,'" she said. "It gives you a glimpse of how deeply I have felt love and I have felt loss but it doesn't tell you anything about a relationship that I've had."

It's not confirmed if any of the poems are about Sprouse.

Reinhart posed for the February 2020 cover of Allure, and in the cover story interview, the publication referred to Sprouse as "her boyfriend."

There weren't any other questions concerning him or their relationship, but fans speculated that this meant the couple was still together.

After Reinhart's November post, the two stayed quiet on social media about the status of their relationship.

However, some fans were disappointed that Reinhart and Sprouse were photographed arriving separately to the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscars after-party.

Sprouse took photos with this twin brother, Dylan Sprouse, and costar KJ Apa, and Reinhart was photographed with "Riverdale" costars Camila Mendes and Madelaine Petsch at the party.

The two remained quiet on social media after the summer reports and the W cover release, until Reinhart posted a series of photos that included one of the couple kissing.

The caption of the post read, "The sequel," and the couple appeared back together.

Sprouse told Entertainment Tonight that you just have to "poke fun at" breakup rumors because of the industry he and Reinhart are in.

"It's kind of something you sign up for, but as long as [you] can keep it light and fun, it's all good," he said.

The couple never confirmed the breakup reports, and in August, Reinhart posted a sweet poem for Sprouse on Instagram for his birthday.

Reinhart and Sprouse attended San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) on July 21 for a "Riverdale" panel, and after their appearance, reports began surfacing that the two had broken up, per Us Weekly.

According to an unnamed source who spoke to "E! News," the two actually broke up earlier, in the summer of 2019.

However, right when these reports were surfacing, Reinhart and Sprouse posed for the cover of W magazine that was released on July 25, 2019.

For the interview with the magazine, the two were interviewed separately instead of as a couple.

Reinhart said, "Now that I'm X amount of years in, I do appreciate the privacy we have, that he's encouraged me to take. No one knows how long we've been together, and no one will until we're ready to say it. No one knows how we fell in love, except for our close friends and us. It's really special."

Sprouse said, "My own happiness and her happiness come before caring about what people are saying."

Both of them posted the cover on Instagram with satirical captions. Reinhart's read, "BREAKING: A reliable source has confirmed that none of you know s---," and Sprouse's read, "UNPRECEDENTED: Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart consume the flesh of 'reliable sources' to fuel their bacchanalian sex cult."

The couple walked the red carpet together for the 2019 "Camp: Notes on Fashion" Met Gala.

Sprouse posted on Instagram for the event with an out-of-character, unfocused shot of Reinhart posing with a portrait of Louis XIV.

"I took [Lili] on a date where we drove to this location deep into Canada and I surprised her with a big hot-air balloon adventure, which was quite a bit of fun," he told Glamour.

He also opened up about what he looks for in a relationship.

"My language of love is quality time. I'm not really the type of person that likes going to a movie and sitting in silence. Maybe a little breaking and entering. Some photography! Who knows?" he said.

"We legitimately could not stay away from one another," the actor told the Los Angeles Times about his and Reinhart's decision to start dating.

He also spoke about the couple's issues with deciding how much of their personal lives and relationship to share with the public.

"I've girded my private life very intentionally," he told the publication. "It's one of those things that I still sort of grapple with and Lili and I grapple with."

Sprouse starred in the heartbreaking romantic film "Five Feet Apart," and he and Reinhart attended the big premiere for the movie together.

Reinhart also posted on Instagram in honor of the premiere with the caption, "I am so in awe of @colesprouse and @haleyluhoo for their work in this film. The last few days have been hard on all of us ... and this film touches you in a way that makes you feel incredibly grateful to be with the people you love. I can't express enough how moved I was by @fivefeetapartfilm — I can't wait for the world to see it."

GQ published an interview with Sprouse on Valentine's Day during which he referenced his somewhat private relationship with Reinhart.

"It's not something that we hide, or it's not something that we show off. It's just something that exists," he said.

Sprouse's Valentine's Day post read, "Quite actually the only thing keeping me sane is @lilireinhart."

He posted a second photo later that day with the caption, "Another one just for good measure."

It's hard to deny the couple's love after Reinhart posted an intimate picture of the two of them for Valentine's Day with the caption, "You make me very happy. Happy Valentine's Day, my love."

This post was captioned "I hope you don't mind," which could be a reference to the Elton John song "Your Song," or simply an aesthetically-pleasing phrase for a caption.

Reinhart told the publication, "I'm not going to hide away from my relationship or hide away from what's going on in my life, but what does happen in my relationship is so private, and I cherish it a lot. He does as well. A relationship is a very intimate thing, and I want it to be between me and him, not me, him, and the world."

She also addressed the speculations that she's Sprouse's "muse" saying, "Sometimes he's inspired by a location, and he's like, 'I want to shoot you here.' Other times, I'm inspired by a dress, and I'm like, 'I want you to shoot me in this.'"

She continued, "Our photo shoots are very intimate, just him and me; no one else is there ever."

During a "friendship test" with Glamour magazine, Sprouse and Reinhart had kind words to share about each other, along with a few quips.

"Cole is one of the smartest, the smartest person that I'm friends with," Reinhart said. "He's incredibly passionate about art, about photography, about acting, and I really admire that."

She also said that her first impression of Sprouse was that she "thought his voice was annoying," but that "it's grown on" her.

"Lili was a tough egg to crack," Sprouse said. "She's very shy at first and reserved. I think it was about halfway into the first season she started letting people in truly."

Later in the interview, Sprouse complimented Reinhart saying, "You are by nature a caretaker and an extremely nurturing person."

Sprouse captioned the photo, "Both the birthday and the gift. My little muse, happy birthday my love." Fans took this as an official announcement that the two were a couple.

This was the first semi-romantic photo Sprouse shared, captioning it, "it's pretty, pretty late."

"It seems as if the world would still be a stranger to me, if not for you," Reinhart wrote in the caption for Sprouse's birthday post. "I'm so thankful that our paths intertwined to form this beautiful adventure~ Happy birthday, my love."

Later that month, Reinhart shared a photo of the couple in Paris. Whether it was a throwback to their trip in April 2018 or a second trip to France, Reinhart captioned a post "6am" with the location Paris, France.

Reinhart kept the caption simple — just an emoji.

Reinhart posted a photo at Comic-Con of Sprouse, herself, and costar Casey Cott, with the caption "Loves."

"I'm not OK talking about my relationship," Reinhart told Harper's Bazaar. "I'm not going to tell you my love story. That's just not appropriate right now."

She added that she considers her privacy very important, and wants people to respect that.

Reinhart posted an adorable photo later that month of the pair dressed in their Met Gala attire. The photo had no caption.

The pair arrived together at the Met Gala dressed to the nines. They posed for photos together, marking the first time the couple walked the red carpet together.

Reinhart posted a photo of herself on Instagram and tagged Sprouse. She kept the caption simple, with only the shell emoji.

On the same day, Sprouse posted two photos of Reinhart on his Instagram with no captions.

According to US Weekly, the pair of "Riverdale" actors attended RiverCon and then were spotted out in Paris. Photographers captured photos of the two sharing romantic exchanges in public.

Reinhart posted a photo while in France of a graffitied wall. She captioned the photo with the French flag.

Reinhart told Ocean Drive in 2018 that Sprouse has helped the cast of "Riverdale" to deal with life in the public eye because he's been doing it since he was a child.

"He really brings us down to earth if we're feeling like something we've said is being taken out of context. He's always the one to be like, 'Just ignore it. It will blow over,'" she said. "It's a nice, calming energy he has because you know that he's been through it.

Reinhart and Cole took a trip to the Kapaa Homesteads in Hawaii, according to an Instagram post from Reinhart.

Reinhart told V magazine that talking about her private relationships is not something she wants to share publically.

"I'm not at a point in my life where I'm ready to openly confirm, deny, or talk about a relationship that I'm in, because I think it's brutal to have a relationship in the spotlight where I can be scrutinized by anyone and everyone," she said. "Being in a relationship with someone, it's a relationship between those two people, and I feel like when you let enough people in, it's not about those two people anymore. It's about everyone."

Sprouse's answer about whether or not he and Reinhart are in a relationship? "No comment," according to People magazine.

"I think that in many ways it's offensive and an invasion of privacy, but it's also a badge of honor because it means you're creating a chemistry on screen that is so understandable that people want to see it in real life, which is flattering from a professional perspective," he told the magazine.

He continued, "It's also sexy, these parts of the relationships that are just yours."

"When I wanted eggs and toast at 1am," Reinhart captioned the photo, in which she tagged Sprouse.

According to Glamour magazine, Sprouse told "Live With Kelly and Ryan" in 2017 that there would be more "Bughead" PDA on "Riverdale."

"A little bit more of that [kissing], which is gonna be good," he said. "They're contractually obliged to give me as many kiss scenes as possible this season. I wrote it into my contract."

Reinhart captioned the black-and-white photo, "You go first."

Sprouse also posted a different photo of Reinhart on the same day, with the caption "410." Fans asked in the comments if the caption was some kind of secret code about his love for Reinhart.

Later that month, Reinhart tagged Sprouse in a post captioned "Let down your hair *extensions*" Insinuating, perhaps, that Sprouse was her prince charming.

"People have wanted Lili and Camila to be together. People have wanted KJ and I to be together. People have wanted every actor on this show to be in a union that they could make real. Truthfully, it's very pleasing that people talk about Lili and I in that way because it means that we're resonating so strongly that people really want that to be true," Sprouse said to Entertainment Weekly in reference to "Riverdale" fans.

The caption read "To the man who has showed me more beautiful places in this past year than I have ever seen in my whole life. Happy birthday, Cole. Thank you for all of the adventures and here's to many more."

The whole "Riverdale" cast attended San Diego Comic-Con in 2017. At the event, Reinhart was spotted wearing Sprouse's maroon suit jacket.

People reported that the pair were seen holding hands and kissing.

The caption of the post was simply a palm-tree emoji, but Reinhart tagged Sprouse in the photo. The pair attended the music festival with a few of their "Riverdale" costars.

"That crow is clicking at us, can you hear it," Sprouse wrote in the caption of this photo of Reinhart.

"The wind is so strong, the bird is practically hovering. They say time moves faster for corvids. Years and decades are seconds and minutes to the black bird. That's why they click, to see if they can match our clocks. It's true! Shame it should be hovering, it must be so confused. Motionless and untethered by time. Don't worry for the crow, in mere moments it'll all pass. In mere moments this will just be one of many clicks had while hovering."

Fans, now fully believing the two "Riverdale" actors are in a romantic relationship, speculated that this long caption was a demonstration of Sprouse's love for Reinhart.

Reinhart captioned an Instagram post from the same photoshoot, "Thank you for indulging me," and tagged Sprouse. She followed up with a post from the photoshoot in May with the caption "Can't help it. Here's another."

Sprouse's Instagram showcases his photography skills, and he's often on shoots with models like Kendall Jenner.

This photoshoot with Reinhart in a field of flowers was captioned with flower emojis. Reinhart captioned the same photo on her own account, "Sister Golden Hair."

"Young Old Hollywood with @lilireinhart," Sprouse captioned the Instagram post. Reinhart posted the same photo to her Instagram with the caption "Damn kids need to get off my lawn."

Sprouse's Instagram is much more artistic than personal, but the photo seemed to confirm that the two were spending time together offset.

However, he posted a similar photo of another costar, Madelaine Petsch, with the same caption.

Reinhart captioned this Instagram post, "Betty & Juggy."

Although the caption tells us the pair is in character, the body language between the two made some fans think they were more than friends, especially since Betty and Jughead's characters did not become a pair on the show until March 2017.

"Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my pal, Cole," Reinhart wrote in her Instagram caption, adding a dancing-girl emoji.

This was the first post on Reinhart's Instagram that showed the pair together without the rest of their "Riverdale" cast.
