Payal Kapadia's groundbreaking film "All We Imagine As Light," which made history as the first Indian film to win the Grand Prix award at the Cannes Film Festival, is hitting theaters across India on November 22. This momentous announcement was made by the filmmaker during a press conference, bringing the excitement of international cinema right to Indian audiences.

“This film has been years in the making, and with our partnership with Spirit Media, I am incredibly excited for the next phase,” she expressed. “For the first time, a film of mine will be released in theaters, and Indian audiences will finally be able to buy tickets and experience it on a big screen, where cinema truly comes to life.”

"All We Imagine As Light" first graced select theaters in Kerala in September before its successful run in France and Italy. Next up, the film is set to delight audiences in the UK and the US next month. The story revolves around Prabha, a nurse whose life is turned upside down by an unexpected gift from her long-estranged husband. Meanwhile, her younger roommate Anu is on a quest for privacy in the bustling city as she navigates her relationship with her boyfriend. The plot thickens when the two friends embark on a road trip to a beach town, where a mystical forest becomes a backdrop for their dreams to manifest.

The film features an impressive cast, including Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, and Chhaya Kadam. It is an official Indo-French co-production, brought to life by French company Petit Chaos and Indian production houses Chalk & Cheese and Another Birth. Rana Daggubati, co-founder of Spirit Media, expressed his enthusiasm for the film, stating, “At Spirit Media, we are committed to bringing unique and meaningful stories to audiences across the country. Payal has made a beautiful film, and we can't wait to share it with Indian audiences.”
