California gubernatorial hopeful Caitlyn Jenner said Friday that she is "honoring a work commitment" amid reports that she left the Golden State and flew to Australia to film "Celebrity Big Brother."

"I am honoring a work commitment that I had made prior to even deciding to run for governor. There is no pause at all on this race to save CA!" the Olympic champion and reality TV star tweeted.

In another tweet, Jenner wrote, "My campaign team is in full operation as am I. I am in this race to win for California, because it is worth fighting for."

Jenner, a longtime Republican, is hoping to defeat Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom in a September recall election.

Multiple news outlets, including The Advertiser newspaper based in Australia, reported Friday that Jenner landed in Sydney and began her mandatory 14-day quarantine before filming the show.

Jenner's campaign would not confirm to Insider whether or not she was, in fact, in Australia.

"Caitlyn has not paused her campaign at all. She is launching a multi-week bus tour soon that will take her all across California," a campaign spokesperson said in an email.
