Britney Spears is sharing the strict rules imposed on her during her 13-year conservatorship.

The "Womanizer" singer recalls in her new memoir, "The Woman In Me," which was published Tuesday, how she was once "grounded for weeks" after taking her mask off at the beach during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recalling how isolated she felt at home in Los Angeles, California, during the early days of the pandemic in 2020, Spears writes: "For the first months of lockdown, I became even more of a homebody than I already had been."

"I spent days, weeks, sitting in my room, listening to self-help audiobooks, staring at the wall, or making jewelry, bored out of my mind," she continues. "When I'd run through a ton of self-help audiobooks, I moved on to storytelling ones, anything that turned up under the heading of 'Imagination' — especially any book that had a narrator with a British accent."

At the time, Spears was still under a conservatorship that allowed her father, Jamie Spears, control over her estate and finances. The conservatorship was ended in November 2021.

"Out in the world, the security team imposed by my father kept enforcing rules," Spears writes. "One day I was on the beach and I took off my mask. Security ran over to scold me. I was reprimanded and grounded for weeks."

During this time, her family, including her father, mother Lynne, and sister Jamie Lynn, were living in their home state of Louisiana, Spears writes.

"I even got to missing my family," writes Spears. "I called my mom and said, 'I want to see you guys.' She said, 'We're shopping right now. Gotta go! We'll call you later.' And then they didn't. The rules of lockdown were different in Louisiana, and they were always out and about."

In "The Woman In Me," Spears also describes having an abortion while dating Justin Timberlake, her two-week romance with Colin Farrell, and the time she cheated on Timberlake with choreographer Wade Robson.
