Anna Paquin says she plans to 'elaborate' on her reasons for using a walking cane 'at some point'
- Anna Paquin was seen walking with the assistance of a cane during a recent public appearance.
- The actor has been experiencing mobility and speech difficulties, People and ET reported.
Anna Paquin sparked concern earlier this week when she was photographed walking with the assistance of a cane while making her first public appearance in over a year.
The 41-year-old actor attended a screening of her film, "A Bit of Light," on Wednesday (April 3). Her husband, Stephen Moyer, directed the film.
Dressed in black and holding a cane, Paquin posed for photographers at the event, where she disclosed to People that since 2022, she has been experiencing mobility and speech difficulties due to a health condition.
"It hasn't been easy," she told the outlet, although she did not disclose her condition.
Paquin has since shared more with Entertainment Tonight's "Spilling the E-Tea."
The "True Blood" star expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support she has received since her recent appearance.
"I am extraordinarily touched and moved by people showing that they care and being interested and kind about it," she said.
Paquin added that she was planning on sharing more about her condition "at some point."
"I will probably elaborate on my own platform in my own words," she said. "I'm just really grateful for the support."
A source told ET that Paquin will hopefully fully recover from the condition.
Before her appearance this week, Paquin was last photographed at the world premiere of "A Bit of Light" in October 2022.
Photographs from the event showed her standing at the event swithout the assistance of a cane.
"A Bit of Light" marks Paquin and Moyer's second film collaboration together; he also directed her in 2018's "The Parting Glass."
