- Andy Cohen responded to questions about Jen Shah pleading guilty at a BravoCon panel on Friday.
- "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" star was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud in March 2021.
Andy Cohen said he was genuinely surprised by Jenn Shah pleading guilty to one count of wire fraud at BravoCon on Friday.
Shah was arrested during the filming of season two episode one of "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City." She told her castmates and viewers that she had not knowingly committed any crimes in subsequent episodes.
"I am innocent. I did not do any of the things that have been alleged against me," Shah said through tears in episode 14 of the second season.
The US Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York charged Shah was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud in relation to telemarketing and conspiracy to commit money laundering by the Justice Department in March 2021. She pleaded guilty to wire fraud in July 2022.
"We had been watching early cuts of the season where she is obviously very firmly proclaiming her innocence," Cohen said during his "Ask Andy" panel.
He added: "So I think that it has cast a very interesting shadow on watching this season."
Stuart Smith, who appeared on "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" as Shah's "first assistant," was arrested as well.
Cohen first commented on her case in April 2021.
"I'm waiting to see how it plays out," he said on his Sirius XM show "Radio Andy." "I have nothing to add to what we already know, other than I certainly hope and pray that none of it is true."
