A 2004 clip of Conan O'Brien telling Danny Masterson 'you'll be caught soon' resurfaces after actor was sentenced for rape

A 19-year-old clip of Danny Masterson joking about getting people to touch his genitals on late-night TV has resurfaced and gone viral following his rape verdict.
The clip aired on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" in December 2004 and appears eerily prescient in the wake of the actor's sentencing on Thursday, which saw him imprisoned for 30 years for two counts of rape.
In it, the "That 70s Show" actor is quizzed by O'Brien about his Long Island accent, which he said had disappeared after a decade of living in Los Angeles.
But Masterson quickly folded in a joke suggesting sexual harassment, which O'Brien went along with — adding that Masterson "will be caught soon."
Masterson started by saying that while most of his accent had gone away, "there's also certain words that there's nothing you can do about." He then said that his friend, the "Criminal Minds" actor Bodhi Elfman, did an impression of him.
"He always teases me, and he says, 'Hi, my name is Danny Masterson, would you like to touch my balls?'" said Masterson, exaggerating the accent on "balls" to audience laughter.
"So why are you asking people to do that?" O'Brien said. "That's the more important question."
"I mean, you got 'em, you know what I mean?" Masterson said, adding: "Everybody should grab." O'Brien riffed on the joke, saying: "Accent aside, that's the more important thing."
But with a slight change in tone, O'Brien added: "I've heard about you. And you'll be caught soon, I know you will."
"I will," agreed Masterson. The banter, which the audience clearly enjoyed, has taken on a new significance since Masterson's sentencing.
The exchange took place just a year after the 2001 to 2003 period in which three women said Masterson raped them.
The case against Masterson took several years to come to court, but in May 2023 Masterson, who pleaded innocent, was found guilty on two of the counts.
