9 things to stream this weekend, from the Stormy Daniels doc to Netflix's new sci-fi series '3 Body Problem'

This French legal drama was an early darling of awards season, starting when it premiered at Cannes in 2023 and took that festival's top award, the Palme d'Or. It follows a novelist named Sandra Voyter (Sandra Hüller), who's suspected of killing her husband after his fall from an attic window.

In Apple's new period dramedy, set in 1969, Kristen Wiig plays a social-climbing outsider trying to worm her way into Palm Beach's elite club, the Palm Royale. The "Saturday Night Live" alum is joined by a handful of Hollywood's most beloved female actors, including Laura Dern, Allison Janney, and Carol Burnett, plus Ricky Martin.

"3 Body Problem" isn't perfect, but the first season does a solid job setting up what could become Netflix's first great epic. Anyone who watched "Game of Thrones" is well aware that creators David Benioff and DB Weiss, who teamed up with Alexander Woo for this new show, definitely know how to world-build.

This one centers on controversial former cast members Jax Taylor and Kristen Doute (who were both fired from "VPR" in 2020), as well as Taylor's now-estranged wife Brittany Cartwright, and their group of more family-minded new friends living in the San Fernando Valley.

"Freaknik: The Wildest Story Never Told" chronicles the rise and fall of Freaknik, a legendary Atlanta street party that originated in the early 1980s as a small picnic for HBCU students who couldn't afford to go home for spring break and eventually exploded into a massive cultural event.

Lil Jon, Killer Mike, and 21 Savage (who's also an executive producer) are featured in the doc, which gives insight into the festival's legacy.

Stormy Daniels, the adult film actor who has been involved in a legal dispute with former President Donald Trump since 2018 over the affair she alleges they had in 2006, drops new bombshells about the scandal in this documentary.

She claims Trump, who has repeatedly denied ever having sex with Daniels, "cornered" her into sex in his Lake Tahoe hotel suite and that she signed an NDA in exchange for "hush money" in 2016, just before the election, in order to prevent Trump from having her killed for speaking out about their alleged affair.

That "hush money" agreement is at the center of the former president's pending criminal trial in Manhattan.
