'16 & Pregnant' star Jordan Cashmyer dies aged 26

The "16 & Pregnant" star Jordan Cashmyer has died aged 26, her mother announced.
Jessica Cashmyer wrote on the Facebook page of her late husband, Dennis, on Sunday: "Last night I received a call no parent ever wants. My oldest beloved daughter, Jordan has passed away, she was only 26 years old.
"Our hearts are truly broken. No parent should ever have to go through losing a child, EVER."
The medical examiner also confirmed her death to TMZ. No cause of death was given.
MTV's "Teen Mom," a spinoff of "16 & Pregnant," tweeted on Sunday: "We are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Jordan Cashmyer. Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this difficult time."
Cashmyer appeared in an episode of "16 & Pregnant" in 2014, where she detailed struggles with homelessness and unemployment. She was 18 at the time and living in Baltimore, Maryland with her boyfriend at the time Derek Taylor.
After their daughter, Genevieve Shae Taylor was born, the couple continued to struggle to make ends meet, and according to ScreenRant, the couple split up after the filming of the show.
ScreenRant reported that Cashmyer and Taylor's parents shared custody of their granddaughter until Cashmyer signed away temporary custody to Taylor's mom in 2015 after Derek took Genevieve to live with him at his mother's home. Cashmyer also gave birth last year to her second child, Lyla.
Cashmyer struggled with addiction and checked into rehab in 2016 according to TMZ. Last year, she shared on Facebook a flyer for a celebration of one year of sobriety.
