  • Netflix just dropped their preview of upcoming original movies for 2024.
  • Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Lopez, and more will star in new movies on the platform.

On February 1, Netflix shared a preview of their original movies being released in 2024.

The announcement included clips from an upcoming sci-fi action movie with Jennifer Lopez in the lead role, a spy family film starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx, and a movie about Pop-Tarts.

Here's what to know about this year's most-anticipated Netflix original movies.

On Valentine's Day, Netflix is releasing a new rom-com starring Gina Rodriguez as a New York sportswriter named Mack. Mack and her friends run hookup plays for one-night stands for years. However, when Mack falls for one of her targets, she must decide whether to keep playing or fall for real.

Tom Ellis ("Lucifer), Damon Wayans Jr. ("New Girl," "Happy Endings"), and Liza Koshy ("Work It") also star in the movie.

"Madea" creator Tyler Perry has teamed up with Netflix for a steamy new thriller. Kelly Rowland plays Mea Harper, a strong-willed criminal defense attorney trying to become a partner at her firm to solve her family's financial issues.

To land the role, she must first succeed in her latest murder case involving a seductive artist, Zyair Malloy (Trevante Rhodes), who is accused of killing his girlfriend.

Adam Sandler stars as an astronaut in a new sci-fi drama based on the novel "Spaceman of Bohemia" by Jaroslav Kalfař. Jakub (Sandler) is stuck on a solitary research mission at the edge of the solar system when he discovers that he may have ruined his relationship with his wife, Lenka (Carey Mulligan).

Jakub then meets Hanuš, an alien giant spider voiced by Paul Dano, who wants to help the lonely astronaut.

Netflix's biggest star, Millie Bobby Brown, stars in a new fantasy movie that subverts the traditional damsel-in-distress trope.

Brown plays Elodie, a damsel who thinks she's living in a fairy tale after a prince offers to marry her. The marriage was a trick to repay an ancient debt and Elodie is quickly sacrificed to a dragon. To survive, she must learn to save herself.

Ray Winstone and Angela Bassett also star in the movie.

The Lindsay Lohan-Netflix-cinematic-universe continues with "Irish Wish," a supernatural rom-com set in Ireland.

Maddie (Lohan) has to attend a wedding where the love of her life is marrying her best friend. She spontaneously wishes to meet her true love and wakes up the next day as the bride-to-be. However, she soon realizes that her dream guy may not be right for her.

Ed Speleers ("You") and Ayesha Curry also star in the film.

"The Beautiful Game" is a new sports drama based on the Homeless World Cup, a real-life soccer tournament for unhoused athletes and asylum seekers.

Mal (Bill Nighy) is managing a team from England to participate in the tournament when he decides to take a chance on Vinny (Michael Ward). However, Vinny's past seems to hinder his soccer talent.

Zack Snyder's sci-fi epic "Rebel Moon" continues in April. At the end of Part One, Kora (Sofia Boutella) and her rebel team returned to Veldt, believing they had protected the planet from the evil Imperium empire. However, their main villain, Admiral Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein), who died in the first movie, was resurrected.

In Part Two, the rebels must fight against Noble again to protect Veldt. Djimon Hounsou, Michiel Huisman, Doona Bae, and Anthony Hopkins will reprise their roles in the sequel.

From "Barbie" to "Air," every major brand appears to be getting its own drama, with Pop-Tarts being the latest.

Set in 1963 Michigan, "Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story" follows rival companies Kellogg's and Post as they race to create a new breakfast pastry.

For the movie, Jerry Seinfeld, the writer and director, brought together an all-star cast of comedians and actors, including Melissa McCarthy, Hugh Grant, Jim Gaffigan, James Marsden, Bill Burr, and Fred Armisen.

Richard Linklater's latest film is a screwball comedy based loosely on a true story.

Gary Johnson (Glen Powell) is a kind professor who volunteers at his local police department. He eventually gets roped into posing as a fake hitman to catch criminals. Gary excels at the job with numerous disguises until he falls for one of his clients (Adria Arjona).

"Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F" (July 3)

Netflix revives the "Beverly Hills Cop" franchise with a new movie in the summer. Eddie Murphy returns to the screen as Axel Foley, a fast-talking former Detroit cop.

This time, Foley has to work with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and his old friends Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and Taggart (John Ashton) to protect his daughter (Taylour Paige).

In "The Union," Mike's (Mark Wahlberg) life is forever changed when his ex-girlfriend Roxanne (Halle Berry) recruits him for a dangerous intelligence mission.

Mike Colter ("Luke Cage") and J.K. Simmons ("Whiplash") also star in the movie.

After Jennifer Lopez's success with "The Mother" last year, she stars in another Netflix action movie. In a futuristic world, Lopez plays the titular character on a mission to hunt an old enemy, a renegade robot. However, Atlas soon discovers that she must trust AI to save humanity.

Simu Liu ("Barbie"), Sterling K. Brown ("Black Panther"), and Mark Strong ("Kingsman: The Secret Service") also star in the movie.

Cameron Diaz has come out of retirement for one last movie with Jamie Foxx. The two play a married couple who gave up the CIA to start a family.

However, when their cover is blown, they are thrust back into the world of espionage with their two children (played by McKenna Roberts and Rylan Jackson).

In "Carry On," Taron Egerton takes the lead as a TSA agent. When a mysterious traveler blackmails him, Ethan Kopek attempts to outsmart the criminal before his dangerous package ends up on a plane.

"Carry-On" has a recognizable cast, including Jason Bateman, Dean Norris, Danielle Deadwyler, and Sofia Carson.

Kerry Washington stars in this Tyler Perry-directed movie about the first and only Women's Army Corps unit of color stationed overseas during World War II.

Susan Sarandon, Pepi Sonuga, and Oprah Winfrey also star in the movie.

From the creators of Netflix's "He's All That" and "The Princess Switch" trilogy comes a new comedy starring Miranda Cosgrove and Brooke Shields.

When Emma (Cosgrove) comes home, she reveals that she is getting married in a month in Thailand. Lana (Shields), her mother, is shocked to learn that Emma's fiancée is the son of the man who broke her heart years ago.
