Probably the oldest song in the list, this is from the movie Mughal-e-Azam which was released in the year 1960. The song cost the makers millions, which would have been in crores today. Reportedly, in a sequence for the song, director K. Asif used real diamonds in place of mirrors for a scene of the movie, which gives us an idea on how big the budget of this movie would have been. The song was also shot in color, a rare feat at that time.

The song from the 2008 movie Jodhaa Akbar saw 400 dancers, 2000 onlookers and a massive ground becoming Akbar’s Diwan-e-aam. The theme of several dance groups coming from different parts of India to honor Akbar could only be justified in this stature. The song was shot in Karjat over a period of 15 days.

More than half of this song from the movie Boss was shot in Bangkok, with a total of 600 foreign dancers in the background. This is the reason why the song became super expensive, even as Sonakshi Sinha waived off her fees and did a cameo for good friend Akshay.
