Gabbar Is Back
The movie showed Akshay Kumar as Gabbar, an anti-corruption one-man army who motivates youngsters to fight corruption. What caught our eye though was the look that Akshay’s character carried in the poster. It instantly reminded us of the famous hairstyle, especially the side swept curl of Amjad Khan, when he played the iconic villain Gabbar in the equally iconic movie
Sholay, 40 years back.

Seeing the petite Anushka Sharma in a rugged look with an iron rod in her hand made us look at the poster again, and writing about the movie can’t be complete without a special mention to Sharma’s performance in her production debut. Kudos!

The list couldn’t have been complete without mentioning Masaan, the film that won two awards at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival along with a thunderous unhindered standing ovation. The poster well catches the emotions and complexities of every character from the movie, which starred Sanjai Mishra, Richa Chadda, Shweta Tripathi and Vicky Kaushal.
