21 actors you probably didn't realize voiced animated '90s movies
"The Iron Giant" made its debut in 1999, with a robotic main character who broke everyone's heart.
The man behind the metal? Vin Diesel, now known for his work in the "Fast and Furious" franchise and for voicing Groot in "Guardians of the Galaxy."
Another in the Warner Bros. classic "The Iron Giant" was Annie Hughes, protagonist Hogarth's mom.
Annie was played by Jennifer Aniston, then co-star of the NBC sitcom "Friends."
Practically everyone knows Mel Gibson starred in "Pocahontas" as John Smith. But do you know who voiced Smith's fellow crew-member Thomas?
That would be Christian Bale. He changed up his natural British accent for the role.
Rameses went head-to-head with Moses in the 1998 historical animated movie "Prince of Egypt."
The man behind the pharaoh was British actor Ralph Fiennes — famous for his role in "Harry Potter" as Voldemort and many other films.
Miriam played the older sister of Moses in "The Prince of Egypt."
Miriam was voiced by none other than Sandra Bullock. Two years later she became a household name with "Miss Congeniality."
In "Prince of Egypt," Moses' other sibling is a wry and sarcastic man named Aaron.
Which makes it fitting that Jeff Goldblum was cast as the voice actor.
1997's "Anastasia" was a musical drama following the life of a lost Russian princess.
Though Meg Ryan voiced Anastasia for most of the film, young Kirsten Dunst lent her talents for the character's childhood scenes.
Anastasia's nemesis in the film is Rasputin — a warlock intent on destroying her family.
Christopher Lloyd (aka Doc Brown from "Back to the Future") provided the terrifying vocals for Rasputin in "Anastasia."
Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" featured three talking gargoyles, the most prominent of which was Hugo.
Youngsters who might not have been "Seinfeld" fans probably didn't recognize Jason Alexander's voice behind the jokes.
Another "Hunchback" character was Esméralda, the gypsy woman Quasimodo falls in love with.
Esméralda was played by Demi Moore — an actress not known for her roles in children's movies.
Z was the main character in DreamWorks' 1998 movie "Antz."
Z was voiced by Woody Allen, a household name some kids might not have recognized back in the '90s.
A small side character in "Antz" was Azteca, one of the worker ants who knew Z.
That was Jennifer Lopez, who was cast after her breakout acting role as Selena in 1997.
If you never saw "Antz," odds are you definitely watched Pixar's "A Bug's Life." Princess Atta was played by ...
... Julia Louis-Dreyfus! People know her best for her role on "Seinfeld," and these days she's winning Emmys for "Veep."
Another award-winning actor cast in "A Bug's Life" played the villain, Hopper.
That was Kevin Spacey, who now stars on Netflix's "House of Cards" in his Golden Globe-winning role of Frank Underwood.
The 1995 Warner Bros. movie "Pebble and the Penguin" may be less well known, but some powerhouse Hollywood stars were featured in the cast.
Hubie, the main penguin star, was played by comedic actor Martin Short.
Hubie went head-to-head with the villainous (and super buff) penguin Drake.
Tim Curry himself did all the vocal work for Drake.
Remember "We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story"? This 1993 animated movie featured John Goodman as Rex. But see that little alien guy whizzing around?
That's Vorb, one of the aliens who fed the dinosaurs "brain grain." He was voiced by former late-night host Jay Leno.
Macaulay Caulkin starred in 1994's "The Pagemaster," alongside several famous actors who played anthropomorphous books. This is Adventure.
Adventure (the book) was voiced by "Star Trek" star Patrick Stewart.
And Stewart wasn't the only Trekkie in "Pagemaster." Guess who voiced Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde?
Leonard Nimoy — best known for his role as Spock in "Star Trek."
This one's a real throwback. "Once Upon A Forest" is a tale of forest creatures threatened by poisonous gas. This little badger's name is Michelle.
Elizabeth Moss, now known for her role on AMC's "Mad Men" as Peggy, lent her voice to the tiny badger in 1993.
Last but not least, "Quest for Camelot" was a 1998 film all about dragons, King Arthur, and a blind hermit named Garrett.
Garrett was voiced by Cary Elwes, best known for his role in the '80s classic "The Princess Bride" and the 1993 spoof "Robin Hood: Men in Tights."
