Here's an introduction to the new characters joining 'Thor: Ragnarok'
Two time-Oscar winner Cate Blanchett ("The Aviator," "Blue Jasmine") will play villain Hela, the Asgardian goddess of death, and the daughter of Loki.
She rules over the dead in the realms of Hel and Niffleheim.
Jeff Goldblum ("Jurassic Park") was cast as Grandmaster.
Along with the Collector, who is featured in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy," the Grandmaster is one of the Elders of the Universe.
Tessa Thompson ("Creed") joins the cast as Valkyrie.
She is an Asgardian chosen by Odin to lead the Valkyrior, a group of female warriors who take slain heroes to Valhalla.
Karl Urban ("Star Trek") will play Skurge.
Also known as the Executioner, Skurge is an Asgardian anti-hero.
Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk.
Stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Idris Elba (Heimdall), and Sir Anthony Hopkins (Odin) are all set to return.
This is the first Marvel movie directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Taika Waititi (“Two Cars, One Night,” and “What We Do in the Shadows").
