Released in 1995, DDLJ is one of the cutest romantic tales. If your heart does not melt watching the Raj-Simran love saga, there is something wrong with it. This longest running film in Indian cinema is still continuing in Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir. It has already completed 1,000 weeks in December last year. Earning over Rs1.06 bn (US$17 mn) in India and Rs160 mn (US$2.5 mn) overseas, DDLJ is one of the highest grossing Bollywood film. It won 10 Filmfare Awards, including Best Actor and Best Actress Awards.

Who can forget the dialogue, when Anjali (Kajol) says: “Kuck-kuch hota hai Rahul (SRK), tum nahi samjhoge.” This romantic drama was the fourth film of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol as onscreen couple. Directed by their friend Karan Johar, this Dharma productions film was released in 1998. Although, Kajol was dating actor Ajay Devgan, whom she latter married, the film industry was abuzz with SRK’s liking for Kajol. Now about this triangular drama, the film also features Rani Mukerji in a supporting role, and Salman Khan has a guest appearance. The box office collection of the film stood at Rs 1.03 bn ($16 mn). The soundtrack also became the biggest seller of the year. It won many awards, including the "Best Film" honours at the Filmfare Awards.

This romantic drama was the comeback movie of SRK and Kajol as an onscreen pair after the actress got married to Ajay Devgn in 1999. There were rumours in the industry at that time that Ajay didn’t want his wife to work with SRK. But writer and director Karan Johar, who enjoys good relations with Kajol and SRK, pursued them to do this movie.  Written especially to evoke nostalgia among the audience, the film features Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, SRK, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles. Rani Mukerji has a guest appearance in the film which released in 2001. Made on a budget of Rs 400 mn ($6.3 mn), this Dharma productions movie collected gross Rs 1.17 bn ($19 mn) at the box office.

MNIK and we know that SRK did not play a terrorist in the movie. Filmmaker Karan Johar again managed to bring the golden pair of SRK and Kajol together on silver screen after a gap of nine years. Kajol did the movie after a long sabbatical as she was busy with her children and family. The movie was released in 2010 and made headlines due to its name, sensitive content and the most successful onscreen pair SRK and Kajol. The film was produced by Karan’s mother Hiroo Yash Johar and SRK’s wife Gauri Khan. The movie was successful and collected Rs 200 crore ($32 mn) at the box office. The movie was also screened as part of the 60th Berlin International Film Festival's official selection.
