Techies in the country who feared a slowdown can take a chillpill as the engine and generator maker Cummins is planning to hire about 500 engineers for their global research and development hub coming up in Pune.
An Economic Times report suggests, Cummins is investing Rs 1,000 crore in their Pune plant.
“Currently, we are in the construction phase and we have ordered all the equipment like the labs and so on. We already have a workforce of 1,500 engineers and it will be expanded to approximately 2,000 employees,"

Pune based Cummins, began its India operations more than five decades ago and has 17 plants and about 9,700 employees. The Cummins group in India makes diesel and natural gas engines, generator sets and auto parts.
