Emirates just took a shot at competitors with a Jennifer Aniston commercial

When she returns to her seat in the first class cabin she's surprised to find someone there.

Emirates is taking aim at its competitors again in a new commercial that showcases the airline's most affordable seats.

Jennifer Aniston, a spokesperson for Emirates, takes the limelight as she discovers the appeal of economy class on Emirates' A380 and opts to trade her first class seat for a seat in the economy cabin.

The new ad is a follow-up to a commercial that Aniston starred in last year that took a veiled stab at Emirate's American competitors. The 2015 commercial compared the amenities offered in the first class cabin on an Emirates's flight to amenities offered in a first class on competing airlines.

While the new ad does less comparing and more showing off, the message is still clear: Emirates wants consumers and its competitors to know that it's confident in all of its products, not just its premium cabins.

The ad is unlikely to sit well with US airlines who have struggled to keep up with the products offered by Emirates and other Middle Eastern airlines. In fact, a feud has been brewing between US airlines and Middle Eastern competitors for awhile.

American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines accuse Emirates - as well as Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways - of receiving tens of billions worth of government subsidies during the last 10 years, helping attribute to their success.

Emirates, along with the other Middle Eastern airlines deny receiving illegal subsidies, but ads like this are sure to be like salt in the wound for some US competitors.
