Inside the polling booth
You will find people standing in queues in front of the polling booth. When your turn comes, you will enter the room / hall where the polling station is set up.
The first polling officer will verify your identity. If your details are checked and found correct, the first polling officer will issue you a slip to be able to cast your vote.
The second polling officer will receive the slip from you, ink your finger and will ask you to sign on a register confirming that you have attended the polling in person to vote.
The third polling officer will press the ballot button found on the control unit of the EVM. You will be shown the compartment in which you must cast your vote.
In the EVM machine, you need to press the blue button against your preferred candidate’s name or party symbol. A red light will glow along with a beep sound against the name of the candidate for whom you have voted. Now you have casted your vote finally discharging your obligation as a citizen of the country.
