Election 2019: Biju Janata Dal Candidate List for Odisha
BJD is fielding Chandrani Murmu as its woman candidate for the Keonjhar Lok Sabha constituency. She becomes the seventh woman nominated by the party in Odisha to contest in the upcoming polls for the parliament. Chandrani (26) is a mechanical engineer. Granddaughter of Harihar Soren, former Keonjhar MP, Chandrani is contesting in the place of sitting MP Sakuntala Laguri. As per the party sources, she is the youngest among the Lok Sabha nominees fielded by the party for the 2019 polls. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the party has promised to reserve 33% Lok Sabha seats for women candidates and they are giving their best to fulfill it.
