Here are the top Institutes in India as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2023 released on Monday.

Indian Institute of Technology Madras remained the top educational institute in the country for the fifth year with a score of 86.69. Founded in 1959, it is ranked as the top engineering university as well.

The Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, founded in 1909 with support from Jamsetji Tata occupies the second position with a score of 83.09.

IIT Delhi is next on the list of India’s best institutes. It was established in 1961 and occupies the third position with a score of 82.16.

IIT Bombay occupies the fourth position with a score of 81.28. It was founded in 1958 and is considered as one of the country’s top engineering and science universities.

IIT Kanpur occupies the fifth spot, with a score of 77.23. It was established in 1960 and is located on Kanpur’s Grand Trunk Road.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, India’s premier medical research university, occupies the sixth spot with a score of 72.14. It was established in 1956 in New Delhi.

IIT Kharagpur, the country’s first IIT takes the seventh spot with a score of 71.82. It was established in 1951 and is located in Kharagpur, West Bengal.

IIT Roorkee is a close eighth, with a score of 71.66. It is the oldest engineering institute in India and was founded as the College of Civil Engineering in British India in 1847.

The IIT Guwahati takes the ninth position on the list with a score of 68.78. It was established in 1994 and is one of the country’s leading engineering institutes.

Jawaharlal Nehru University takes the tenth spot with a score of 67.44. It was established in 1969 and is one of the leading research universities in the country.
