It's that time of the year again when students are seen heckling each other, harrased, sweating in the sweltering Delhi heat almost struggling to make it to the best DU colleges. It's one of the best universities recognized world over, and every year one gets to witness tremendous competition and what one may call a rat-race.

With cut-offs soaring high each year, DU has never failed to astonish applicants nation-wide. It offers as many as 54000 seats in around 16 faculties and 86 departments spread over North and South Campuses. This year, however, has come with a difference - Admission procedures have gone online!

Online registration for 3-year UG courses on cut-off basis will begin June 1 onwards. Apart from regular candidates, applicants from sports and extra-curricular activities also have to apply online. Let's go in-depth on some of the instructions announced by Delhi University for UG aspirants.

Instructions you should know:

1) Delhi University 2016 application form will be valid for each programmes/courses offered at all colleges including St. Stephen’s College and Jesus & Mary College. However, St. Stephen’s and Jesus & Mary Colleges will have their separate admission criteria. Therefore, it's advisable to fill the Application Form only after ensuring the courses/programmes available in the respective colleges of the Delhi University they are interested in.

2) Candidates will need to register in online mode through the official DU Admissions 2016 link to be available on its website by June 1 for applying to any UG course.

3) Candidates will have to provide basic details including E-Mail, Password and Mobile Number for online registrations. Once Candidates have registered online, they need to provide their Login credentials using Login Id and Password and fill the Application Form.

4) These documents will have to be uploaded online:

Class 10th Board Examination Certificate Class 10th Marks-sheet (in case it is not combined with certificate) Class 12th Marks-sheet Class 12th Provisional Certificate / Original Certificate Character Certificate (Recent) Transfer Certificate from school / college as well as Migration Certificate from Board / University are required from those students have passed senior secondary certificate exam from outside Delhi Recent photograph Scanned copy of signature SC / ST / PwD Certificate (in the name of the candidate) issued by the competent authority OBC (Non-creamy layer) Certificate (in the name of the candidate) issued by the competent authority Income Proof For Kashmiri Migrant Quota – Kashmiri Migrant certificate issued by Divisional Commissioner / Relief Commissioner For CW Quota – Educational concession certificate issued by competent authority Sports / ECA distinction certificates of last three years in descending order (April 1, 2013 – march 31, 2016)

5)During the online application process, candidates will need to remit an application fee in the online mode using Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking. Those falling under General/OBC would have to pay RS 100 while those under ST/SC/PWD would have to pay Rs 50.

*It is advised to verify the furnished details in the Application Form of DU Admissions 2016 before submitting the form, else no information will be corrected and changed afterwards and incorrect information may lead to cancellation of candidature. Once submitted, a copy of the same is needed for future correspondences.
