Donald Trump to take forward Obama’s move, will back India's NSG bid
US President Donald Trump is not going to change stance and carry forward former President Barack Obama’s push for India’s NSG seat bid.

The US is going to endorse India’s entry into Nuclear Suppliers' Group (NSG).

"The US supports India's full membership in the four multilateral export control regimes, and we believe that India is ready for NSG membership," a State Department spokesperson said. The spokesperson was responding to questions on the position of the Trump administration on India's bid to be a member of the 48-member Nuclear Suppliers Group.

The key to India's membership lies with China. But it is not clear if US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who will be in China this week, will raise the issue with Beijing or if President Trump is ready to take up the issue himself, as was done by President Bush in 2008.
