Joker is a Tamil political satire based on a story of a delusional protagonist, Mannar Mannan, who believes that he is the president of the country. Mannan is born and brought up in a village that has no toilet and widely practises open defecation. He, along with social activists Ponoojal and Isai — who became his advisor and P.A — roams the village creating awareness on social issues.

He fights court cases seeking compensation from a political leader who hurts a goat with his sand truck. The police co-operates him and he wins the compensation. In yet another case, he demands compensation from a school correspondent in whose building a 4-year-gold girl fell in the well and died. However, in this case, the court holds premises not responsible for the accident. He, being the “President’ orders military rule and plans to take law in his hand but is arrested by the police. The Hindi film Joker is a fantasy sci-fi is a story of an Indian origin NASA scientist Agastya who struggles to find the name of his village Paglapur on India’s political map. In 1947 when India and Pakistan were being separated, the cartographer ensured that the village didn't find a place on the map as it had the region’s largest mental asylum.

Agastya works on a secret project which involves creating a device to communicate with aliens. He brings the mentally ill population to lie that they spotted UFO.

The film received poor reviews for failing terribly. If you find the idea of an alien landing in India and boogying with pelvic thrusts to saucy songs funny, this is for you. Otherwise, it's a joke of a film, said Anil Sinanan from Time Out.
