Did Sports Illustrated Photoshop Ray Lewis' Hair On This Week's Cover?

Earlier this week, Ray Lewis met with the media. During the session, the reflection from the lights appeared to show that Lewis was using something akin to mascara on his forehead to make his hairline look less receding (see inserts below; original screengrabs can be seen at Larry Brown Sports).

Lewis also appeared on the cover of this week's Sports Illustrated. And in the cover image, his hair looks much more natural and the hairline is much less rigid.

So, did Sports Illustrated Photoshop Lewis' hair, something more typically associated with fashion magazines? It sure looks like they did. But a better question might be: Why? (click on image for a larger version)
