Democrats won't wait for the Mueller report to investigate Trump, but impeachment remains a long shot
- House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler said they plan to move forward with investigations of President Trump before Robert Mueller releases any report.
- Nadler also vowed to make the findings of Mueller's report public.
- While other Democrats have pushed the need to impeach Trump, Nadler said it is "too early to talk about that intelligently."
WASHINGTON - Democrats are barreling forward with investigations of President Donald Trump, with no intention of deferring until the conclusion of the special counsel investigation headed by former FBI Director Robert Mueller.
New York Rep. Jerrold Nadler, now serving as the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, told CNN's John Berman they intend to pursue investigations immediately.

"We are not going to wait for the Mueller report," he said. "There is plenty for the Judiciary Committee to look into right now."
"Specifically the attempt to have a massive fraud on the American people in terms of rigging an American presidential election and undermining the integrity of the election," Nadler added. "And we have to look into that, whether it's by hush payments or by collusion with Russians or by any other means."
Nadler also noted that the committee would do everything in its power to ensure the findings of Mueller's report are made public.
But Nadler also tamped down on talk of impeachment, which has been popular among the new crop of rank and file Democrats.
"We have to get the facts. We will see where the facts lead," he said. "Maybe that will lead to impeachment. Maybe it won't. It is much too early."
Thursday night, freshman Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib launched a tirade against Trump and called for his impeachment at a welcoming reception hosted by liberal activist group MoveOn.
"People love you, and you win, and when your son looks at you and says 'Momma look, you won, bullies don't win,'" Tlaib said. "I said, "Baby they don't, because we're gonna go in there, we're going to go in and impeach the m----- f-----.'"
Nadler dismissed Tlaib's rant against Trump as unbecoming, adding that any form of impeachment is still a far away prospect.
"I don't really like that kind of language, but more to the point, I disagree with what she said," Nadler told CNN. "It is too early to talk about that intelligently. We have to follow the facts."
