In a move aimed at countering competition from online marketplaces, Delhi's SelectCity Walk mall has introduced a home delivery service available in the Delhi-NCR region."As a mall we cannot give discounts like online marketplaces, but we can provide them convenience and technology in order to keep the mall adept with the latest changing trends to which our customer is attracted and adapting," Yogeshwar Sharma, ED of SelectCity Walk told Economic Times.
"We have already done a successful pilot and now we are confident to take this initiative at a large scale," Sharma added. "Today, we handle 20-25 deliveries without any marketing with a very small team and investment, but we know the number would be quite large once it is implemented fully."
The mall is also working on displaying all product prices of each store on its website. "This would require huge investment, which would be our next level of services to allow customers shop from our mall through online, but still we would prefer that the mall still remains a favourite destination to visit for our customers," Sharma said.
