You have heard sad tales about
police in
India. Incidents like police arriving late at accident sites to lack of women’s security in Delhi are nothing new. But there is a twist in the tale now.
Delhi Police has once again proved that humanity isn’t lost in the capital.
Priyanka Khamboj, a photographer and
graphic designer by profession was recently stuck at the middle of the road in Delhi around midnight. With a tyre of her car falling flat she didn’t know what to do. Most people driving in the cities in India aren’t experienced in changing car tyres. The reason for this is obviously availability of repair stores on road.
Initially
Priyanka thought of keeping the car there and taking a cab to reach home. While she started calling various cabs, she got the brunt of reality. They were charging twice or thrice from what’s estimated. Given the situation in which she was, Priyanka was ready to pay that amount for an assurance to reach home safely, when a
PCR van of Delhi Police stopped by.
Seeing her in distress, ASI (Assistant Sub Inspector)
Om Prakash and ASI
Daya Kishan of
Pul Prahalad Pur police station spent no time to coming to her help. The policemen themselves started fixing the tyre of her car. At the hour of need, Delhi Police appeared as messiah for Priyanka Khamboj.
After they were done fixing the car tyres, the policemen were cheerful enough to pose for a photograph. And Priyanka reached home safely.
Well done, Delhi Police.
