Delhi Police Deciphers Sunanda Pushkar’s Death Mystery , Says She Was Murdered
Law Order1 min read

Giving a new twist to Sunanda Pushkar case, Delhi Police has now said that she was murdered. It has also filed a murder case in the incident. Sunanda was the wife of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who was found dead in mysterious circumstances in a five-star hotel in January last year.

Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi said that it appears she died due to poisoning, but it has yet not been identified what kind of poison was used. "She died due to poisoning. Whether the poison was given orally or injected into her body is being investigated," he said. "We have to investigate whether she poisoned herself or whether she was forcefully given poison," Bassi added.

Although no one has been named in the FIR, Bassi said, "Relevant people will be questioned."

According to the police, the FIR has been registered on the basis of medical reports received from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where her autopsy was conducted. It is pertinent to mention here that the medical board had earlier said that Sunanda’s death was 'unnatural.'

Dr Sudhir Gupta, the head of AIIMS, had alleged in July last year that he was pressurised to change Pushkar's post-mortem report.
