The Indian Army is bringing up new vehicles to the India-China border in Ladakh as the tensions between the two countries continue to simmer. This includes new trucks, choppers, tanks, and even a special Indian Army ambulance.

“The Indian Army is fully prepared and more than capable of fighting a full-fledged war even in winters in Eastern Ladakh,” a Northern Command spokesperson told PTI.

Rations and supplies to bear through the sub-zero temperatures in the Himalayas have already been acquired. The addition of new vehicles will bolster the Indian Army’s ability to transport supplies between bases, hone in extra firepower, and fly over the mountainous peaks.

However, things have been fairly quiet along the India-China border over the last five to six days. It comes after Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi agreed on a five-point plan to de-escalate tensions along the countries’ shared border.

“India always prefers to resolve issues through dialogue. While talks are in progress to resolve the border issues with China in Eastern Ladakh, at the military level it is well prepared for the prolonged standoff,” said the Northern Command spokesperson.

Here’s a quick look at the new hardware that the Indian Army has stocked up on:
