Insane photos show how US and South Korean Marines train in the middle of winter
South Korean and US Marines practiced how to conduct patrols and covert strikes in winter conditions.
South Korean soldiers can be recognized by the winter camouflage on their faces, while US Marines can be recognized by their M4s and woodland/winter MARPAT camouflage kit.

The Marines were under joint command during the operations.
The exercises included live fire simulations.
Of course, being winter, skiing was involved.

Physical conditioning was a big part of the exercises, and periodically Marines from both countries would be ordered to stop and throw snow in the air while screaming, like these South Korean Marines.
US Marines were also ordered to do the same thing.
Team building exercises were a large part as well. Here, Marines from both countries are mixed together into two squads as part of a competition.

The Marines also promoted the upcoming Winter Olympic Games that will be held in Pyeongchang.
Both sides wished each other well in the upcoming games.
"We have increased both our warfighting capabilities, as well as created lasting friendships that we will take back with us when we head back to the United States," one Marine told the media.
