Eliot J. Schechter/Getty ImagesThe New York Post is reporting that Dan Marino has a secret love child with a woman he had an affair with in 2005 and has paid her millions of dollars to keep it quiet.
Marino had an affair with Donna Savaterre, who was a production assistant at CBS. Marino and Savaterre's daughter, Chloe, was born in 2005.
A source told the Post:
"They had an affair, and she had a baby. Everything was on the down-low and secretive."
The Post reports Marino paid Savaterre millions of dollars to take care of the child and also move to Texas as "part of the deal." Savaterre soon returned from Texas to NYC however and began "living large," and splitting her time between the Upper West Side and the Hamptons.
The source also told the Post that Marino has been in touch with his daughter and "impromptu meetings" were also part of the "deal."
Marino has been married for almost 30 years and has six children. Marino released the following written statement to the Post:
"This is a personal and private matter. I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then. We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved. My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and have six children together and we continue to be a strong and loving family."
