Damaged Plane Successfully Lands At Airport In St. Louis
Fox2Now A small plane has made a successful emergency landing after having problems with its landing gear at Lambert International Airport in St. Louis, Missouri.
Images from TV networks show no sign of flames or serious damage.
According to Fox2Now, the plane's landing gear was cocked to the side, making it difficult to land safely. The plane is reportedly a Learjet with 8 people on board.
Initially, Park Airport in Cahokia, Illinois, about four miles south of St. Louis, prepared for the plane to make an emergency landing there. Another plane, which may have been a military plane, made a pass at the runway at Park Airport. There is speculation this plane may have been showing the other plane the best approach.
There is currently no word on why the plane ultimately diverted to Lambert airport.
A number of ambulances and fire engines appear to be on standby nearby.
