Ousted Chairman Cyrus Mistry said the developments at the board meeting of the Tata Global Beverages is a repeat of the illegality that the Board of Directors of Tata Sons did on October 24.
The statement said there was nothing on the agenda about the replacement of the Chairman just as there was nothing in the Tata Sons Board Agenda on October 24.
Tata Global Beverages directors voted out Cyrus Mistry as Chairman and replaced him with Harish Bhat. It is the second Tata company to replace Mistry after Tata Consultancy Services.
"The Tatas continue to demonstrate the lack of respect for due process of law that they have displayed," the statement by Mistry's office said. Bhat, an employee of Tata Sons, proposed that S.K. Santhanakrishnan, be made Chairman at the meeting. However, this proposal was ruled out since Mistry was already a Chairman for the meeting, it added.
