FTX paid Tom Brady $55 million in a partnership that would see him do just 20 hours of work over three years, according to Michael Lewis' biography about Sam Bankman-Fried.

In "Going Infinite: The Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon," Lewis includes details of FTX's sponsorships in a section of the book that also describes Bankman-Fried's meeting with Anna Wintour about the Met Gala.

According to Lewis, Wintour asked about how FTX had given away money, and Bankman-Fried said: "We really try to look hard at what partnerships would be most impactful. That's why we've partnered with Tom and Gisele."

FTX had also agreed to pay Gisele Bündchen, Brady's then-wife, $19.8 million — again for just 20 hours of her time over three years.

Lewis told "60 Minutes" that he saw internal FTX documents that showed how much the celebrities were paid.

The book also notes that Larry David was paid $10 million to star in FTX's Super Bowl commercial. That's on top of the $25 million the company spent to produce and air the ad, which also featured a cameo from Bankman-Fried's father.

A representative for Brady did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment, sent outside US working hours.
