Yes, that's the kind of competition India sees in low to mid range phone segment. Chinese smartphone maker, Coolpad today launched its selfie focused smartphone, Coolpad Mega 2.5D. India has always seen heavy competition in low range phones and Chinese smartphone makers have the mega share in the segment. Only recently Xiaomi and Lenovo launched their latest devices in the same segment and Coolpad seem to have reached the conclusion to lower the price further before they hit the market. So the company slashed the price of their new device, Coolpad Mega 2.5D which was earlier priced at about Rs. 7999 to Rs. 6999. That's exactly the same price as Xiaomi's Redmi 3S smartphone that was launched last week. This segment has seen a huge growth not just in terms sale but all in terms of value for money. Many of these low priced phones offer similar if not higher specs than the high end phones. So only the getting the price down will not be the answer anymore it will have to battle it out in the fastest growing smartphone market in the world. Coolpad says they are focused on user experience and value for money and they are looking to sell 2.5 million devices by the end of the year and reach a 5million mark next year.

The new Coolpad Mega smartphone has 8MP cameras front and back and the company says the 8MP front camera, wide angle lens and the 5.5 screen size is what makes it a specialised Selfie phone. The new 4G VoLTE phone will ne available in two colours, golden and white. It's packed with 3GB RAM with 32 GB expandable memory with 2500mAh battery capacity. The phone will be exclusively available on Amazon from 24th August.

The two decades old Chinese phone company, Coolpad says it's only getting started in India and is already set for it's next big festive smartphone launch during Diwali.
