Congress today demanded a Supreme Court monitored SIT probe into the ‘Modigate scandal’.
The party said that since the ‘senior leadership’ in the Modi government was "in cahoots" with the former IPL chief Lalit Modi, an independent inquiry was required to reveal it’s dark underbelly.

Alleging "Lalit Modi is personally known to the highest in the BJP", he said that Modi was also connected to the Gujarat Cricket Association when he was the state's Chief Minister.
"The ruling party is involved. Those in the government cannot be trusted. It has to be done by a Supreme Court-monitored Special Investigation Team", he said.
Sharma also said Modi should speak up on a case like this as "what has happened is scandalous".
He also criticized Home Minister Rajnath Singh considering Swaraj a "humanitarian".
