In 2016, China implemented its VAT fully and replaced all business tax with VAT. China has a standard rate of 17% VAT and some products may see a VAT of 13%. In construction services, China levies a VAT of 11% on general tax payers and 3% VAT on small-scale VAT players.

UK

UK
In the United Kingdom, the standard VAT rate is 20% and in some cases it is reduced to a paltry 5%. Earlier, the standard VAT in the UK was 17.5% which was increased to 20% in 2011.

Germany

Germany
VAT in Germany is 19%. In sectors such as food and agricultural products, it is reduced to 7%. In Germany, overseas exports are exempted from VAT.

Brazil

Brazil
The average state VAT rate in Brazil stands as 17% and in Sao Paulo, the standard rate is 18%. Meanwhile, Rio de Janeiro levies 19% VAT on different products and services. In Brazil, exports are exempted from VAT.
