Electors around the nation are gearing up so eagerly to vote for their preferred candidate during the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 11, 2019. While you will be exercising your franchise to discharge your obligation as a citizen in the largest democracy, do you know the wealth status of the contesting candidates from some major parties in India? The following analysis regarding crorepati candidates is made based on the information furnished by the candidates in the affidavit accompanying their nomination for contesting. A number of details are mandatory for the candidates and failing to furnish them or giving wrong information can lead to disqualification of the candidate from contesting in the elections by the election commission of India. Hence to avoid their disqualification and gain an entry to fight in the elections, majority of the candidates will furnish the details asked as faithfully as possible.


Across the nation, 91 constituencies are going for polling during the first phase of elections. A total number of 1266 candidates have been approved by the EC to face the election from these different constituencies in India.
