CBSE class XII results are out! Girls perform better than boys

The class XII results declared by the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) today brought cheers for girls as they outshone boys.
While the overall passing percentage this time was 82, the pass percentage of girls stood at 87.56 as compared to 77.77% of the boys.
However, the overall pass percentage was marginally lower than last year where 82.70 per cent students had passed the exam.
Total 10,40,368 students had registered for class XII examination this year, an increase of about 1.2% students against last year.
Meanwhile, Thiruvananthapuram registered the highest pass percentage at 95.41.
M Gayatri of New Green Fields School topped the CBSE board in the country securing 99.2% as she scored 496 marks out of 500.
The second rank is shared by three students- Mythili Mishra (Noida), B Arun (Trivandram) and Saurabh Bhambri (Delhi), scoring 495 marks. Students who got third rank scored 494 out of 500 marks.
Also, 13,284 students in foreign countries had also appeared in the class XII exams and their pass percentage is 92.31.
