United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), which is a United Nations agency, is inviting applications to fill up various on-contract basis and full-time positions for its office in New Delhi from May 1, 2022.

Candidates applying for any role should be open to travelling to different states in the country.

Applicants should also be fluent in English and Hindi. If the candidate also speaks Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, it will be considered an add-on advantage.

These are the roles available in UNICEF which are open for Indian nationals —

1. Individual Contractor: RCCE Consultant to support UNICEF on COVID vaccine promotion

This assignment requires the full-time engagement of RCCE consultants to support UNICEF at the national level in planning and implementation of COVID-19 vaccine communication strategy and action plan. The Consultant will work closely with the UNICEF SBC Specialist for effective demand generation-related activities.

Contract duration: 9 months (full-time)

Qualifications required: At least 2 years of working experience in executing health promotion interventions with experience in copywriting and editing for the documentation of communication for development, social behaviour change interventions. Candidates must have done bachelor of arts (B.A.) in communication, journalism, anthropology, social science, or public health.

Deadline: March 24, 2022

2. Individual Contractor: Support Microsimulation Evaluation and Integrated Social Protection with NITI Aayog

The consultant will provide technical assistance to the NITI Aayog as well as UNICEF India to contribute to the development of the integrated social protection policy framework.

Contract duration: 10 months (full-time)

Qualifications required: Minimum 8 years of experience in working on economic modelling, policy analysis and research, and development, multi-stakeholder initiatives. The candidate should hold a master’s degree in economics, statistics, social policy, international development, public relations, or a related technical field.

Deadline: March 23, 2022

3. Senior Operations Associate

The Senior Operations Associate will support the Deputy Representative Operations in strategic operations and communications involving the exchange of non-routine information, coordinating, and following up on deadlines as well as establishing and maintaining communications with staff across the office. This post provides operational and administrative support in all areas of operations including finance, human resources (HR), Admin, information technology (IT), etc.

Contract: Fixed-term appointment

Qualifications required: Minimum of 7 years of experience including progressively responsible work in office administration and human resources. Completion of secondary education. Professional or university courses related to the field of work are highly desirable.

Deadline: March 22, 2022

4. Immunisation Specialist

The immunisation specialist or manager will have to exercise managerial and technical leadership and participate in the development of a sectoral work plan and take technical decisions and work for the administration, implementation, monitoring and follow-up of sectoral project activity, consistent with the defined project strategies and approaches.

Contract: Fixed-term appointment

Qualifications required: Eight years of professional work experience at the national and international levels in development, planning, programming, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and managing of health/immunisation programmes. Professional work experience in a managerial position, or a technical expert position in child survival & health care.

Candidates must have a master’s degree in one of the disciplines — medicine, public health, paediatric health, global/international health, health policy and management, family health, socio-medical sciences, health education, epidemiology, or other fields relevant to immunisation.

5. Budget Associate

The budget associate will have to assist in budget management programmes – (Regular Resources (RR), Other Regular Resources (ORR) and Other Regular Emergency (ORE) and allocate grants and non-grants to programme sections.

Contract: Fixed-term appointment

Qualifications required: A minimum of 6 years of relevant administrative or clerical work experience with at least last three years in budget or financial-related work of the organisation. Candidates must have completed secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses in accounting, finance or budget-related areas.
