The growing addiction for video streaming and demand for regional content is creating new job opportunities across the over-the-top (OTT) platforms.

The media industry is growing at a fast pace and is expected to hit $39 billion over the next three years. And, OTT platforms like Netflix, Hotstar, Voot have a major share in it.

Netflix, which entered the Indian market four years ago, said that it has over 1.7 million Indians logging in everyday. That accounts for a total of 47.4 million subscribers in India. On the other hand, homegrown OTT players like ZEE5 and Hotstar are wooing TV consumers of the popular daily soaps.

Netflix

Position: Manager, Human Resource Business Partner - India
Location: Mumbai
Experience: Minimum 10 years
Eligibility: Human resources experience in the media/tech industry

Global OTT major Netflix is hiring an HRBP in Mumbai. The candidate will report directly to the HR director and will look after the team growth.

He will be required to interact with various teams and have a collaborative leadership style and should have the capability to influence others. The selected candidate will introduce strategies to meet business demands and instill culture by establishing interactions, constructive feedback at the workplace.

The Prime Video team is looking for an AV producer to join the creative marketing team. The candidate will be responsible for delivering video promos, digital content, and video. Position: Engineering Manager - Personalization

Eligibility: Experience with MySQL, NoSql (Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB) and Netflix OSS

Hotstar is looking to hire an engineer manager for the personalisation team. The candidate will be responsible for building platforms and tools that provide customized recommendations to over 150 million users. He will also work on building storage solutions and microservices that serve recommendations at a rate of few 100K requests per second.

The candidate will be responsible for managing, executing project plans and deliveries in a given time. He will mentor the engineering team and evaluate new technologies and designs.

The candidate should be skilled in developing complex interactive applications along with the expertise in Java with micro web frameworks – like Play, Spring MVC, reactive programming. He should also have experience with MySQL, NoSql (Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB) and Netflix OSS.

Position: Written Communications Manager, Film & Series Publicity

Netflix is inviting applications for a written communications manager for film and series publicity. He will be responsible for growing India's publicity team, helping to craft messaging and strategy around Netflix’s film and series slate.

He will write newsletters, production notes, film synopsis, Q&A speeches, press releases and media statements. The candidate will also look after media interviews and interaction opportunities. He will work with translators and transcreators and coordinate across departments.

The applicants must have past experience in the entertainment industry. He will communicate with executives, filmmakers, talent and talent representatives.

Position: Social Media Specialist
Location: Mumbai

Amazon Prime is looking for a customer-obsessed marketing mind to strengthen user experience. The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for co-designing Prime Video’s social media strategy and working with other internal teams as well as external agencies. He will be responsible for delivering business impact through social media marketing and engagement.

He will iterate and maintain Amazon Prime Video’s social platforms and be the point of contact for the social media customer service team. The candidate should have knowledge of media marketing and managing social brand channels in the entertainment space.
