Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) is seeking candidates as apprentices for various technical and non-technical roles in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

The last date to apply for the apprenticeship roles is 5 p.m., August 28. Interested candidates can apply here.

Eligibility criteria for all the roles



  1. Candidates who have gone under apprenticeship programmes earlier or pursuing apprenticeship training in any industry for one year or more are not eligible.
  2. Candidates who have completed three years of their relevant degree/qualification for the engagement of technician apprenticeship are not eligible for the role.
  3. Candidates who acquired their relevant degrees through distance learning/ part-time/correspondence mode shall not be considered for the role.
  4. The age criteria for all the roles is 18-24 years as on 30 June 2021. For Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, the maximum age is 29 years. For Other Backward Class (OBC) categories, the maximum age limit is 27 years.
  5. The selection of candidates will be based on marks obtained in the written test and meeting the eligibility criteria. The written test shall be conducted in the form of multiple choice questions (MCQ) with four options with one correct answer.

1. Trade Apprentice (Fitter) — The candidates must be grade 10 pass with two years of ITI (Fitter) course.
2. Trade Apprentice (Electrician) — The candidates must be grade 10 pass with two years of ITI (Electrician) course.
3. Trade Apprentice (Electronic Mechanic) — The candidates must be class 10 pass with two years of ITI (Electronic Mechanic) course.
4. Trade Apprentice (Instrument Mechanic) — The candidates must be class 10 pass with two years of ITI (Instrument Mechanic) course.
5. Trade Apprentice (Machinist) — The candidates must be class 10 pass with two years of ITI (Machinist) course.

1. Technician Apprentice (Mechanical) — The candidate should hold 3 years of diploma in mechanical engineering with minimum 50% marks for general and OBC category, 45% for SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) categories from a recognised institute/university.

2. Technician Apprentice (Electrical) — The candidate should hold 3 years of diploma in electrical engineering with minimum 50% marks for general and OBC category, 45% for SC/ST/PwBD categories from a recognised institute/university.

3. Technician Apprentice (Instrumentation) — The candidate should hold 3 years of diploma in Instrumentation Engineering with minimum 50% marks for general and OBC category, 45% for SC/ST/PwBD categories from a recognised institute/university.

4. Technician Apprentice (Civil) — The candidate should hold 3 years of diploma in civil engineering with minimum 50% marks for general and OBC category, 45% for SC/ST/PwBD categories from a recognised institute/university.

5. Technician Apprentice (Electrical and Electronics) — The candidate should hold 3 years of diploma in electrical and electronics engineering with minimum 50% marks for general and OBC category, 45% for SC/ST/PwBD categories from a recognised institute/university.

1.Trade Apprentice (Data Entry Operator Freshers) — The candidates should be class 12 pass, but below graduate.

2. Trade Apprentice (Data Entry Operator Skill Certificate Holders) — The candidates should be grade 12 pass with a skill certificate of ‘Data Entry Operator’ for training of less than one year from a recognised institution by the Central Government.

3. Trade Apprentice (Retail Sales Freshers) — The candidates should be class 12 pass, but below graduate.

4. Trade Apprentice (Retail Sales Skill Certificate Holders) — The candidates should be class 12 pass with a skill certificate of ‘Retail Trainee Associate’ for training of less than one year from a recognised institution by the Central Government.

5. Trade Apprentice (Accountant) — The candidates should be a graduate in any discipline with minimum 50% marks for general and OBC categories, 45% for SC/STPwBD categories from a recognised institute/university.
