Compared with other countries like the United States (3.6 pc), United Kingdom (3 pc), China (6 pc), Japan (2.9 pc), employees in India may get the highest percentage of salary hike this year.

According to the AON survey, all 21 sectors in India are expected to give salary hikes this year.

The ecommerce segment (at 12.4 pc) is expected to give the highest increase, followed by information technology (11.6 pc) and professional services (10.9 pc).

As few sectors are still recovering from the COVID-19 jitters, the metals and mining segment may give the least hike this year at 8.3 percent, followed by quick service restaurants (8.5 pc) and the cement industry (8.6 pc).
