  • A TikToker posted his daily routine working a nine-to-five job and has gone viral on social media.
  • The video sparked a debate amongst users about whether an office job is boring or peaceful.

A TikToker who shared a video about his daily routine working a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. job has sparked a heavy debate on social media about whether office jobs are aspirational or mundane.

The 28-year-old – who goes by the name Connor and @hubs.life handle on TikTok – has 137,000 followers and 4.5 million likes across his videos that appear to show his routine as an office worker.

His profile says he's: "Normalizing the Norm." It's unclear whether his videos are meant to be satire.

One video, which has racked up over 500,000 likes and is titled: "Life after college as a 28-year-old with a normal job," shows Connor carrying out his day. In the video, he packs a laptop into a bag, drives to an office, and completes work on his laptop for most of the day.

He then goes to the gym after work, comes home at around 5:30 p.m., and cooks himself dinner.

He ends the video with a comment that he's going to "Chill until I do it all over again tomorrow :)."

The video has taken off on Twitter after one user commented: "This video was so depressing that I started tearing up watching it." The post currently has more than 76 million views on the platform.

Others agreed, with one user saying: "I lived this for like a year and thought I was gonna drop off a bridge. I have no idea how people live this or how this is considered Plan A."

But some are berating the negative comments saying young people are detached from reality if they think a stable nine-to-five job is something to fear.

"Main character syndrome got everybody wanting to be a billionaire entrepreneur drug dealer business owner 501c3 non-profit media mogul innovator so bad they're literally crying at the sight of a completely normal adult life," another Twitter user said.

Videos about daily schedules have become increasingly popular on TikTok with hashtags like #morningroutine getting 19.6 billion views. Many TikTokers are even filming their before-and-after work routines because users find it motivating.

Connor's videos may have hit a nerve with those who glamorize entrepreneurship and shun the nine-to-five life, but there's been a revolt against hustle culture in recent years as many people open up about finding comfort and stability in having a regular job, Insider previously reported.
