- This was apparently the only disqualifying condition on the notification, which has since been taken down.
- Similar conditions have surfaced before in earlier notifications as well.
In the recently proposed notification, the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity listed conditions for interested candidates in services for over a dozen positions at the agency — ranging from lower division clerks to ranks equivalent to group A, B and C posts with the central government.
The eligibility criterion specified that any person applying for those positions should not have been married twice or married to a person who has a ‘spouse living’ — that is a spouse that’s been married before.
According to the report, that was the only disqualifying condition put up by the tribunal in its service rules for not reviewing a job application. However, an exception could be made if the second marriage was found ‘permissible’.
