French IT major Capgemini wants to hire senior talent team from India for global markets, boost campus placements

- Overall, the company has made nearly 11,000 promotions for its employees in last nine months.
The French IT major Capgemini told ET that its senior team expansion is one of its three key priorities as of now, adding that the plan is to nourish a startup culture across its 100,000 employees from India.
The company is reportedly planning to hire over 10,000 fresh graduates via campus placements this year. On a larger scale, it also aims to get nearly 25,000 employees onboard in India — including the senior positions.
It will look for senior officials with exposure in the technology and startup sectors. Recently, it added Nisheeth Srivastava as Chief technology and innovation officer. In fact, last year, to boost the senior level players, the IT major also initiated quarterly appraisals for its employees in India.
The quarterly promotion cycles had been a trend for freshers in the company before it decided to extend it to senior hires, Ashwin Yardi, CEO, Capgemini India reportedly said. Overall, the company has made nearly 11,000 promotions for its employees, he added.

In the recent Global Business Summit in Delhi, Paul Hermalin, Chairman Capgemini said that digital — including cloud-based services — account for 45% of the company’s revenue adding that the number will reach to 50% soon, ET reported.
According to analysts, the company has hired quality talent from India such as Aruna Jayanthi, Srinivas Kandula among others for senior positions across the globe. For instance, Kandula will be heading the Global Human Resource Initiatives for the company.
In addition to Capgemini, many technology companies have geared up for hiring talent in the technology sector with artificial intelligence, robotics and analytics as the emerging roles. Tech hirings are expected to double this year to meet growing demands.
